ParticipantIt didn’t take long for Path of Exile 2 to pull me in. A few hours turned into late nights, then “just one more run” became the norm. If you’re the kind of player who gets a kick out of brutal fights, build tinkering, and the slim chance of seeing something as rare as a poe 2 Mirror of Kalandra drop, this sequel gets its hooks in fast. What stands out most is how familiar it feels without coming off as stale. It’s still grim, still demanding, still built around loot and experimentation, but the moment-to-moment play is sharper and more confident than before.
A campaign that actually pushes back
The return to Wraeclast works because the world feels hostile in a believable way. You move through six acts filled with ruined cities, heavy forests, and dry wastelands that don’t just look different, they change the pace of how you play. Boss fights hit harder much earlier than some people might expect, and that’s a good thing. You can’t just coast through on habit. You’ve got to learn patterns, dodge properly, and respect enemy pressure. The story does its job, sure, but most players will quickly realise the campaign is also training. It’s there to teach timing, build choices, and resource management before the game really opens up.Build freedom is still the main event
This is where the game really starts flexing. The class lineup already offers enough variety to get people theory-crafting for ages, and the best part is that classes don’t feel locked into one narrow identity. You can start with a clear idea, then drift into something stranger as gear and gems start nudging you in new directions. The skill gem system remains one of the smartest ideas in the genre. Instead of getting handed a fixed kit, you shape your own tools. One support gem changes the rhythm of a skill. Add another and suddenly it behaves in a completely different way. Then there’s the passive tree, still huge, still a bit absurd, and still weirdly exciting to dig through. The new dual-specialisation setup makes a massive difference too. Being able to tie passive choices to separate weapon sets just feels practical, especially if you like hybrid builds and don’t want a clunky workaround. Why the endgame will keep people around
Once the campaign is out of the way, Path of Exile 2 becomes what most fans are really here for: a long-term grind with real depth. The endgame throws tougher encounters, more layered systems, and better reasons to keep refining your setup. That loop of testing, adjusting, and chasing upgrades is still ridiculously effective. You’ll swap gear, rethink passives, and probably scrap a decent build just to try something that might be better. That’s the appeal. And if you’re the sort of player who likes keeping an eye on gear options, trading, or picking up extra resources through services like u4gm, there’s no shortage of ways to stay invested once the serious farming begins. -
